After the successful installation and enabling FMEA Studio You will see the FMEA Studio tab added to Excel’s ribbon and additional buttons in the right-click menu. Depending on the document type the button in the tab may different.
1. FMEA Studio tab
The FMEA Studio tab in the Excel’s ribbon includes general items and specific items for the specific document types.
1.1 General items:

- New Project: Create new project from built-in templates like general FMEA, PFD, AIAG FMEA, AIAG&VDA FMEA,…
- Document Properties: Open document properties window, allow you to setting up the document properties like header, cell color, grid style,…
- Fit Content: manually fit the content of the selected items.
- Auto Fit: Turn on/off auto-fit function. When auto fit is selected, the item height will auto ajust to fit the content of the item after content of the item is updated.
- Auto Add: Turn on/off auto add fuction. When auto add is selected, if you press Insert, the new item will be add below of the selected item.
- Activate: Activate the software with the serial number you have.
- Help: Access the online help document.
- About: Open About window, this window show you general information about the software: edition, version, and license status.
1.2 Specified items
Depending on the current document type, the specific button group will appear.
FMEA Tools group button
This group button appears when the active document is an FMEA. It includes the following buttons:

- Structure Tree: Open/Close structure tree taskpane.
- Severity Criteria: Open Severity Criteria setting.
- Occurrence Criteria: Open Occurrence Criteria setting.
- Detection Criteria: Open Detection Criteria setting.
- Risk Evaluation Setting: Open risk eveluation setting, includes Risk Priotity Number, SOD number, Critical Number and Action Priority.
PFD Tools group button
This group button appears when you activate a PPD (process flow diagram) document. It includes the following buttons:

- PDF Setting: Open basic setting for Process Flow Diagram document.
- Auto Connect: Connect conjunction process by OK connectors.
- ReCenter Diagram: Re centerlize the diagram.
- Reset Diagram: Reset all the diagram (both symbols and connectors)
2. Right-Click Menu Button
2.1 Header’s right-click menu:
Some items are added when you right-click on the header of a document. These items are above the original item of Excel’s right-click menu.

- Insert New Column: Open New Column dialog to instruct you insert a new column in the right or left of the selected column.
- Delete Column: Delete the selected column.
- Column Properties: Open the Column Propeties dialog box. This dialog box allows you to change or update the column properties like description or data setting.
2.2 Item’s right-click menu:
Some items are added when you right-click on the item of a document. These items are above the original item of Excel’s right-click menu.

- New Item Before: Create a new item before selected item.
- New Item After: Create a new item after selected item.
- Delete: Delete the selected item.
- Edit: Edit the selected item.
- Highlight Lower Items: highlight the lower level item in its hierarchy structure.
