To unlock all premium features of FMEA Studio Standard, Plus, or Pro, you need to activate the FMEA Studio with a premium license. Before activation, you will need a license key, which is delivered to your email after completing the purchase.

Note:

• FMEA Studio Free does not require activation. Just install and use.
• If you haven’t installed FMEA Studio yet, please follow this instruction to finish the installation of FMEA Studio.

You have two options for activation: Online activation and Offline activation. We recommend using the Online activation method because it is easier and faster.

1. Online Activation

1. Open License Manager (or Activate) from the FMEA Studio ribbon tab
   
   
2. The License Manager dialog opens. Select the FMEA Studio edition you want to evaluate, the Online activation method, and input your license key on the next page. Then click Activate.
   
3. If everything is okay, a message will show up informing you that your license is successfully activated. If not, an error message will show up instead.

Note: The software will connect the internet to complete activation, so if you have a firewall, you should open your firewall for Microsoft Office Excel when activating the product.

2. Offline Activation

1. Open License Manager (or Activate) from the FMEA Studio ribbon tab
   
2. The License Manager dialog opens. Select the FMEA Studio edition you want to evaluate, the Offline activation method, and input your license key on the next page. Then click Save Request File.
   
3. A dialog will show up to ask you about the location to save the requested file (.req). Save the file in a safe place.
   
4. Open Offline License Portal by clicking the Open Activation Portal button in the License Manager or copying and pasting this URL address (https://saas.licensespring.com/offline/) into your browser (Chrome, Firefox,…).
   
5. Upload your request file in the Offline Licensing portal and generate the license file.
   
6. After the uploading finishes, you will see the Download license file button. Click on it to download the license file (.lic) and save it to a safe location. Copy it to the target computer.
   
7. Back to the License Manage, click on Activate button. Browse to your license file (.lic) in the Open File dialog and click the Open button.
   
8. If the license is valid, a message will show up to inform you about successful activation. Close the message to check your license information.
